Randy Wright Provides Leadership to The Alliance

As Councilman and Chair of the Alliance, Randy has been a major driving force in bringing light rail transportation to the city of Norfolk. Michael Townes, President/CEO of HRT in a recent interview published in The Downtowner stated that “Randy has been a strong force for public transportation in Hampton Roads and the champion for light rail in Norfolk since 1996. He has had a vision for using light rail to achieve greater mobility and economic development in the community, and his commitment and tenacity have helped to make this project a reality.” Townes continued, “Randy has played an important role in creating coalitions and ensuring strong support from the Norfolk Council and Transportation District commission of Hampton Roads. I believe that Randy’s leadership on the first leg of light rail in Norfolk will have lasting positive effects on our entire region as other Hampton Roads communities consider extensions of The Tide.”
