City of Norfolk Hires Filion as Construction Czar
On Monday, March 17, 2008, the City of Norfolk appointed Paul A. Filion as Transportation and Downtown Construction Project Manager.
Nearly twenty years ago, Filion began his career with the Ford Motor Company. During his tenure at Ford, his accomplishments included the successful launch of the Ford F-150 and other light-duty pick up trucks. He has managed teams of engineers, production volume and quality, and preventive maintenance programs; ensured plant safety; and, designed and managed million dollar facility projects. His experience in managing complex, ground-breaking projects with many important deadlines will suit him well working on light rail and other downtown projects.
On behalf of the City, Filion will coordinate construction of The Tide light rail, the Wachovia Center office tower, three hotels, a convention center and new residential developments in the downtown area.
