Cure Your SOV Disorder…Try Traffix
Are you one of 2.8 million Virginians who commute alone daily? Tired of high gas prices and stressful situations? If so, TRAFFIX, a service of HRT, has a cure. TRAFFIX is a public service designed to promote transportation alternatives for employees and employers in the Southeastern Virginia area. The mission of TRAFFIX is to decrease traffic congestion in Southeastern Virginia by reducing the number of Single Occupancy Vehicles (SOVs) commuting to work sites.
Alternative modes of transportation can help commuters save money on gas, reduce the amount of smog emitted into the environment, and ease driving-related stress, which will in turn improve quality of life. TRAFFIX encourages many stress-free transportation alternatives including walking, biking, carpooling, vanpooling, park-and-ride services, express buses, and van leasing. TRAFFIX also oversees and promotes regional commuter initiatives by reaching out to area employers. For example, TRAFFIX can survey employees to find out their transportation needs and provide recommendations for the best transportation alternatives for the company such as telecommuting, commuter checks, and van leasing.
If you really want to cure your SOV disorder, give TRAFFIX a try. There are plenty of alternatives offered that will get you on the road to recovery. Using TRAFFIX commuter options just one or two days a week can make a big difference.
