The NorVa

This week our spotlight is on The NorVa…a music lover’s paradise! The NorVa is located at 317 Monticello Avenue, just down the street from The Tide's planned Monticello Station. Labeled one of the hottest venues in Hampton Roads, The NorVa is the place to be for live music. Built in 1913 as a vaudeville theatre/movie house, The NorVa was renovated in 1998 contributing to the revitalized downtown Norfolk district. This award-winning venue is an increasingly popular stop for national performers on tour and is known by its patrons to be a charming and aesthetically pleasing due to its rustic and old-style appearance. The NorVa features top-notch acoustics, provided by a state-of-the-art sound system and engineered acoustical padding throughout the walls. The NorVa's stage area also features extensive utilities and lighting for special effects. Many bands have regarded the NorVa as one of the best venues in the United States due not only to its high-grade equipment, but also to its many backstage perks, such as a hot tub, recreational room and sauna.
