APTA Selects HRT Michael Townes as Chair

Michael previously served as chair of the Transportation Research Board and continues to play a vital role in transit as Legislative Chair for COMTO and the Virginia Transit Association.

For The Tide light rail project, Michael has oversight responsibility for funding and resource allocation; design, construction and procurement decisions; and maintaining a close relationship with the many agencies involved in the project, including the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads, City of Norfolk, Commonwealth of Virginia, and Federal Transit Administration.
