Trains On The Move
In the coming weeks Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) will begin running trains for testing from Ballentine Blvd. to Newtown Rd. in preparation for full operation next year. You should expect to see a train at any time, on any track, traveling in any direction. During testing, each time a train approaches an intersection, the train operator will sound a warning and flagging personnel will direct safety through the intersection.
Safety starts with you!
- Pay attention and only cross tracks at designated crossings
- Cross tracks quickly, without stopping
- Teach children safe behavior when around train tracks

Powered Up
A portion of The Tide's Overhead Catenary System has been powered up between Ballentine Boulevard and Newtown Road. Electricity is flowing through the overhead wires. Please practice safe behavior when near the system.
